The NL Association of REALTORS® (NLAR) today announced a series of public town hall meetings to be held across the province seeking input on changes to the way the real estate industry is regulated in Newfoundland and Labrador, calling the initiative the NLAR Open House.
“We’ve been advocating for modernization of our legislation for quite some time,” said NLAR CEO Bill Stirling. “The provincial government announced late in December that they’ve launched an online consultation on the Act. We’re taking things a step further and going on the road to hear directly from the public, our members and other industry players, like lawyers, mortgage brokers, home inspectors, appraisers and others.”
The input received will inform the NLAR submission to ServiceNL. NLAR is also encouraging members to respond directly to government with their input. Meetings are scheduled to begin in Gander on January 22 and conclude in Labrador City on February 7. More information is available at www.nlaropenhouse.ca.
NLAR represents 700 licenced real estate brokers and salespeople across Newfoundland and Labrador, offering our members services, technology and educational programs. NLAR members participate in required ongoing professional development and are held to the highest standards of professionalism through the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
